eBay - the way to sell pixels.

I can't believe it :)
dunnybang sells his ads on eBay:
Advertise on the famous PIXELOTTO.COM (Traffic) £10 for 1 week.
Not bad :)

Yeah, but he hasn't actually ever managed to get anyone to rent it yet!

Anonymous said...

I bet it is in the terms and conditions of Pixelotto that you are not allowed to do that. Otherwise EVERYONE would be doing that to try and get something back from the crap investment.

Anonymous said...

Also look at the big "lucky pixel" advertisement above that: it now points to a Sedo "domain for sale" page.

Anonymous said...

The link to ebay shows the sale ended and the item was not sold.

LOL.

A pixel on that site is not even worth £10.

I offer alex $5 to sell me Pixelotto.com

Anonymous said...

That is not very smart. You don't have any income, but you still have to give the prize :-)

Thank you for warning me. I withdraw my past offer. Now I offer Alex to take pixelotto.exe and he pay me $5. What do think?

It´s a brilliant idea. Lots of traffic for 10 dollar. I think I will try it for a week.

"Lots of traffic" :)
Things are not so optimistic, dude.
look here on the top advertiser:
http://www.pixelottoreport.com/traffic-top
1078 unique visitors.
This is from 3(!!!) ads on the board and for 4(FOUR!!!) months.
If you buy this you will waste money.
You'd better pay me for link on the pixelottoreport.com - you'll get more profit from this investment :)))
Pixelottoreport has more than 8000 hosts per month!

Ah, but most of the people visting this page are jaded cynics, unlikely to part with their money at any rate :P

Anonymous said...

ell, selling the pixels on ebay may not be successful but at least he is trying to make some money back off his investment. I applaud him.

It is against the terms and conditions, but so what! He is obviously not getting much from his investment if he has been forced to do this.

I thnk so long as he shows some common sense and doesnt link to a porn site he may get away with it for a while.

Good luck to him.

Or just realists with their eyes open who won't waste their money on a con like this.

Of course those two groups sound exactly the same :)

In that case, it's time to play.
Prize : $150,000.00
Players : 1078
Chance to win : 1/1078

Unbelievable!

Alex Filatov said...

No, Filip.
You didn't understand my Top.
There are another advertisers except those registered in my Top.
There are less chances to win then you've mentioned here.

Anonymous said...

Although I consider it a failure, I agree, that is not a bad idea to start clicking. There are probably no places where you get a better bet.

Lucas

Alex Filatov said...

Lucas, I like any idea that would bring you to the success.

Filip Roman said...

Of course there are other advertisers. But, I think every player clicked (after 4 months) on every ad.
So, there are no more than 1078 players.
Start clicking!

Anonymous said...

Why are you talking about 1078 players? There could be LOADS more than that! There is no way of knowing how many people registered as a "player". Whatever the number, your odds of winning are so small it is pretty pointless even playing.

Filip Roman said...

To anonymous :
It's logical.

Can't you see it? An advertiser with 3 ads has 1078 visitors (players) after FOUR months.
Other advertisers with less ads have less clicks, that´s logical.

So : If YOU click ALL ads, you have MORE than a 1/1078 chance TO WIN $150,000.00.
There is no such thing on the bet-market.

Anonymous said...

I think filip is right.

Look at "how to play" on pixelotto.
It says : A month after all the ad space is sold, one ad is selected at random and a winner is chosen from all those people who clicked that correct ad. A millionaire is made! The winner will also get to nominate a charity of their choice to receive $100,000.

When an ad has only 200 clicks (look here top advertisers : http://www.pixelottoreport.com/traffic-top) the chance to win is 1/200 if you clicked on that particular ad.

Anonymous said...

All of this assuming that the draw is honest.

As far as I know there is no third party company overseeing the draw.

$150,000.00 is a lot of money, especially when you have no income coming in, as in the case of Mr. Alex Tew right now.

Filip Roman said...

To bob, who said : $150,000.00 is a lot of money, especially when you have no income coming in, as in the case of Mr. Alex Tew right now.

I wish I had no income like Alex Tew. More than 300,000.00 dollar on his pixelotto bank account (+ the 1,000,000.00 dollar from milliondollarhomepage)
I hope you have more income than he has from dividends alone. I haven't.

Anonymous said...

As a matter of fact I do. And I confirm what I said.

Your belief of a substantial dividend income is based on a set of

assumptions that are wrong:

1. there is no inflation
2. there are no taxes
3. there are no business expenses
4. there have not been any living expenses until now

Instead:

1 = 2.8%
2 = ~ 40%
3 = $70,000 [$ 45,000 (MDHM, source: Alex's blog) + $ 25,000 (Pixelotto,

low-end estimate)]
4 = $40,000/year (low-end estimate)

So here is Alex Tew's balance sheet:

cash = revenue - taxes - expenses = $1,340,700 ($1,038,100 + $302,600) -

$508,280 (0.4 x $1,270,000 net income) - $136,700 = $695,720

Accounts Payable Pixelotto prize = $151,300
Accounts Payable Pixelotto charity = $15,130
Accounts Receivable Tax credit (business loss in 2007) = carry over (?)

Current Alex Tew's net worth = $529,290

Assuming the $695,720 is earning income in a high interest deposit bond or

premier saving account in the UK, it is earning a net (rate after deduction

of tax at standard rate of 20%) annual return of approximately 3.8

($26,437/year)

Now comes inflation, which is currently 2.8% in the UK. So 3.8-2.8= 1% real

interest rate. Therefore the substantial dividend income you were assuming

is actually only $6,957 per year. The rest ($19,480) is what's needed to

keep the asset's purhcasing power constant.

Therefore Alex Tew is actually earning a real income of $580 per month (against living expenses of $3,330 per month). This amount would decrease to $441 once he gives away price/charity fund.

I hope for you Filip that you are making more than $441 per month!

But I know what you'll reply: "I wish I could live off my savings for a while, without having to work"

In fact that is the case with Alex Tew right now. Living expenses are far more than real income from the cash in the bank (creating a monthly deficit of $2,750), so Alex Tew is already eating into his principal real net worth as we speak. How long can it last? I have run the numbers, and it turns out that he can live off his savings for 14 years (up until the age of 37). So I am sure Alex Tew is looking for new ways of earning an income. He has to.

Alex Filatov said...

OMG! Bob, you did it! :)

Anonymous said...

Alexander, someone had to do it, sooner or later ;)

(sorry about the messy formatting, but had to do copy and paste and didn't realize it wasn't right)

Anonymous said...

Hilarious... that someone would sit there and work out someone elses finances that, quite literally has nothing to do with you (with respect to his monies from MDHP). I know Alex, lets just say he has been very wise with his money!

Anonymous said...

So you must find it hilarious also when someone spends time solving a crossword puzzle. A fun and relaxing thing for some people, but not for you evidently.

I am glad that you are confirming that Alex has been very wise with his money, because this was precisely my assumption when doing the calculations above. If he hadn't been wise, his situation would be much different.

And it's exactly because I believe Alex Tew has a good sense of how to manage money and how to assess things financially, that I made my remarks about the prize fund being a lot of money in his eyes right now.

you forgot the about mini and trip to hawaii

and the flat in Cirencester

Filip Roman said...

To Bob :
With this sentence : "Therefore Alex Tew is actually earning a real income of $580 per month (against living expenses of $3,330 per month). This amount would decrease to $441 once he gives away price/charity fund"

you already proove dat he really is able to pay the price.

And with this : "Therefore Alex Tew is actually earning a real income of $580 per month (against living expenses of $3,330 per month). This amount would decrease to $441 once he gives away price/charity fund".

you ingnore this : "$150,000.00 is a lot of money, especially when you have no income coming in, as in the case of Mr. Alex Tew right now".

Anonymous said...

Yes, I didn't know about the flat he bought in Cirencester and didn't consider the Mini. In any case, since these are assets (not expenses) the net worth doesn't change.

The trip to Hawaii is a minor item, and I will consider it as covered by his living expenses budget.

So, assuming the flat was $175,000 and the mini $25,000 here is the adjusted balance sheet:

Assets:
cash = $495,720
flat = $183,750 (+5%)
mini = $18,000

Liabilities:
A/P = $ 166,430

Equity:
$ 531,040 (basically the same as before).

The main difference is in cash: with the flat+mini he now has $200,000 less cash, and therefore the real (inflation adjusted) income from cash is:

$ 413/month (now)
$ 274/month (after he pays the pixelotto prize)

Now he can only last 8 years living off his savings and keeping the current budget (which includes the rent in London).

But he can leave London and just live in his Cirencester flat, which would greatly reduce his living expenses and stretch it for almost 20 years.

To Filip Roman:

1. Nobody said he CAN'T pay the prize. The cash is obviously in the bank account.

2. I mean no income other than the very small amount of interest income he earns. At a minimum a level of income that allows one to break even every month. He clearly doesn't have that right now, given that Pixelotto is earning only a few hundred dollars a month, when lucky.

There was no trip to Hawaii. There was a trip to Australia. There was a flat rented in London. There was the flat purchased in Cirencester.. but.. stil... whats it got to do with you!

what's MY comment got to do with you? :)

and how come you speak with such authority on where Mr Tew spends his holliers?

Matter of fact, I saw him in Hawaii myself! No doubt checking out the excellent university facilities there as he will be getting around to spending that million dollar home page cash on his education.

In fact, he was sloshed out of his mind and ranting about how back home in Britain he was known as Little Branson. And how all he had to do was snap his fingers and the media came running. And his next big idea would totally make those Google guys sit up and take notice. And how education was learned in the forge of life, not the classroom.
